Types of Fairies
There are different types of fairies. For instance, there is a pixie. A pixie looks like this picture to the side. Pixies are attracted to children and are social butterflies. They are very energetic and love to have fun. They like to take human's things, mess with them a bit, and return them afterwards.
Fauns are fairies too. They are alluring and compelling. If you look into their eyes, you will be under their control. They also can use mind control and sometimes lure their victims using pipes, or a flute.
Merpeople, such as mermaids, mermen, and merchildren. They are self-centered and do not like humans because they pollute their waters. Sometimes mermaids still fall in love with a human, but the human always ends up drowning.

How are these creatures fairies? They don't have wings, and they definitely can't fly. (exception of the pixie) It's because of the Seelie and Unseelie Court.
The Seelie Court sometimes help humans, and have a light hearted attitude, not realizing how they affect the humans they play pranks on.
The Unseelie Court takes things very seriously and do horrible things to the ones they punish. They force them to commit actions. The Unseelie court is usually full of Bogeymen, and other evil spirits.
The pixie is in the Seelie Court, the Faun is in the Unseelie Court, and the merpeople are in the Unseelie Court.
